We are pleased to announce the return of Henderson County's FIRST ever triathlon coming back to Fletcher this summer for the 4th annual event! The event will be held at the Lelia Patterson Center (LPC) in Fletcher, NC on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at 8am.
The LPC Triathlon is a Throwback Tri! What does this mean? Believe it or not, before the days of bike racks, triathlons and multi-sport events were still as prominent as ever. The Retro Tri Series is taking a step back to those days by offering a unique series that highlights the retro allure that once was. Retro attire is encouraged to enhance the experience and atmosphere!
In specific, the Throwback Triathlon is a multisport event for athlete of many ages and experience levels that combines swimming, biking, and running. Although it is not required, events may be timed; the focus is on participation rather than competition.
We are bringing back the kid's, splash and dash, multisport event following the full triathlon on Sunday starting at approx. 10:30am.** More info can be found on www.idaph.net. Registration is open.
The race entry fee allows participating in the triathlon event and a portion of the race proceeds will benefit the LPC swim program for underprivileged children.
